There is really no talmudic or patristic relevance in the book and is really a basic primer for the uninitiated and not very compelling. It makes good on the warning not to play with fire as the issues of the occult are very much the realm of experts. In this latter point we are in full aggreement.

A very important book for anyone to read when taking a course on the topic as I did when taking a class from Rabbie Paul Plotkin from Temple Beth Am in Margate, Florida
It is an ok work
